Fitness Flex Self-Tests

The hallmark of the Meridian Flexibility System is that as you become aware of your body's strengths and weaknesses, you at the same time become aware of the corresponding connections to your personality. Once you have discovered how the strength and flexibility of your muscles relates to your personality, you are free to upgrade any part of your self that you desire. You may be primarily concerned with the physical and physiological aspects of your body, but even as you upgrade those aspects of yourself, the other aspects of yourself will be simultaneously upgraded.

These flex self-tests can be used to increase your current level of flexibility in four different ways: physically, spiritually, emotionally, and psychologically. These tests are guides to show you how you can 'be' in all of the ways that you wish to 'be'.

The Principle of Concomitance

There exists an exact association between distinct muscle groups and physiological and psychological benefits that can be produced by increasing the flexibility and strength of each of the different 16 muscle groups. Knowing in advance what specific benefits can be derived from different types of stretches allows you to self-diagnose and then decide on which stretches you wish to work on.

The Principle of Reflection

Stretching teaches you that your body and your life reflect each other. When a musical note is played, everything resonates with that note. Both your life and your body reverberate one another. Therefore improve your body and your life will be moved to improve. You discover the explicit connection between what is happening in your life and where those things reflect within you. The ways you know how to be reflect in your body in predictable muscle groups. The healthier your behavior, the more flexible those concomitant muscle groups become. Changing yourself internally produces external life change, and changing your life externally produces internal change. The same applies for emotional and psychological changes.
